Excitement around Cheltenham is building as we quickly approach the annual four-day festival.
The attendance – and with it, those taking part in Cheltenham betting – grows by the year, making that famous Cheltenham roar a greater experience on day one.
It never disappoints as racing fans get the see the sport’s best jumping stars go head-to-head in the biggest races.
In 2019, the Cheltenham Festival will commence on Tuesday 12th March, with the first race set to go off at 13:30.
Those not attending the races can catch it from the comfort of their homes as ITV Racing returns to our screens jam-packed with high-class action.
The last race of the event will end shortly after 17:30 on Friday 15th March.
Gold Cup Tip
‘Who are you backing in the Gold Cup this year?’ will be a frequent question asked as we draw closer to the Cheltenham Festival. It’s the big one every year, and this time around you can’t rule out Presenting Percy after his impressive win in the RSA Chase last year.
He is renowned for staying, travelling well and shows class when jumping. Those are key characters for a winning horse to have in this huge race.
On the back of a 316-day absence, Presenting Percy successfully returned to action last Thursday. Respected jockey Davy Russell was on board as Percy won the John Mulhern Galmoy Hurdle for the second year running at Gowran, which saw his price for the Gold Cup in March cut to as low as 11/4.
Please remember to gamble responsibly.
Trainer Pat Kelly is notoriously shy when it comes to the media, but he may be called upon to conduct several interviews if Presenting Percy delivers on Gold Cup Day.
