The Portuguese coach lays it on the line for the Gunners coach.
After confirming Juan Mata is having a medical at Manchester United, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has criticised Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger for always complaining.
The Frenchman had previously stated that the Mata transfer to the Red Devils was unfair, but Mourinho has given the reason he believes Wenger said this.
“Wenger complaining is normal, because he always does. It’s something that we know,” the 50-year-old was quoted by the Guardian.
“Normally he should be happy that Chelsea sold a player like Juan Mata, but this is a little bit his nature.
“When he says this is not fair, I think what is not fair is that his team always has the best days to play [getting more rest inbetween games].”
This seems like the Mourinho of old, trying to get into the minds of opposition managers and unsettle them.
With the Gunners currently top of the Premier League and the Blues only two points behind, it’s likely that the Portuguese coach is looking to start a feud with Wenger.
Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has also weighed in on the Mata deal, claiming that players should not be allowed to move between clubs in the same league mid-season.
It’s certainly a coup for United to land the Spaniard, as in the past two years the 25-year-old has been viewed as one of the best players in the English top tier.
However, with the Red Devils in seventh place and 14 points off the league leaders, defending their title looks nigh on impossible.
