The Brazil defender made his first Premier League start of the season at Old Trafford, coming in for the suspended Cesar Azpilicueta, having signed for the Blues in the summer from Atletico Madrid.
And he saw first hand United’s late equaliser to cancel out Didier Drogba’s 53rd minute opener.
And though the draw means his side still retain a four-point lead at the top of the Premier League, he has insisted that seeing United celebrate to hard should fill them with pride.
“We feel we could have won the game, we had a lot of chances to score and good combinations on the ball. In the last moment they had the set-piece and scored, but that’s football, these things can happen,” Luis said.
“We played fantastically and controlled the game in the second half.
“When they score a goal like that of course it’s difficult, but they celebrated one point at their home ground so we have to be proud.
“We haven’t lost yet, the team is improving all the time and we have to keep it up.”
