Oscar is relishing every day under the Portuguese boss…
Chelsea’s ultra-talented Brazilian playmaker Oscar has praised his new boss Jose Mourinho, and thinks the enigmatic manager has had a massive effect on the team already, reports ITV Sport.
Unlike last season where the 21-year-old was often used from the substitutes bench, Mourinho has selected Oscar to start in every Premier League match this term, and the young Brazilian is clearly enjoying the chances being given to him.
“It’s been great to work with Mourinho,” said the playmaker, who is also a first-choice starter for Brazil ahead of next summer’s World Cup in his home country.
“He is one of the world’s best coaches,” Oscar continued.
“We have seen he has already had a lot of success at Chelsea and I am just really happy to have the opportunity to work with him.”
Oscar has dislodged brilliant Spanish playmaker Juan Mata from the Chelsea line-up, and he knows he will have to work hard to prove to fans at Stamford Bridge his ability warrants the no.10 role.
Oscar thinks though, that his own career can only flourish under the guidance of one of the game’s great managers.
“You can already see the influence he has had on us during the first few games and I hope the team will be able to continue to grow under him as I will also be able to grow as a player,” he said.
Oscar and Mourinho will head to Goodison Park to take on Everton in Chelsea’s next Premier League game on September 14.
