Chelsea are believed to have made a £22.1million bid to sign Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi this summer, according to the Metro.
The Blues have been keeping a close eye on the Argentine all season, and have been boosted in their pursuit of his signature after learning that he has recently rejected talks of a new deal to stay with the Serie A giants.
Jose Mourinho had been expected to make a move for the striker at some point, and reports are now suggesting that he already has.
It is said that chelsea have made the initial offer with the view of it leading to talks, though they are willing to go higher should Inter seek more money.
Icardi has been in red hot form this season, bagging 22 goals, despite Inter enduring another disappointing campaign, but Roberto Mancini could use the cash to strengthen other areas of his squad.
