Real Madrid are preparing a huge double swoop on Chelsea for two of their key players, according to the Daily Star.
The Spanish giants appear to have abandoned their pursuit of Luis Suarez after the Uruguayan signed a bumper new contract with Liverpool, and look to have moved on to new targets.
The players in question are Chelsea midfield stars Ramires and Eden Hazard, with each able to offer their own unique talents to the Real Madrid side.
Carlo Ancelotti is currently unable to call upon Sami Khedira, as the Germany international suffered cruciate knee ligament damage on duty for his country in the autumn, but Ramires could offer similar athleticism and box-to-box attributes.
Finding space for Eden Hazard in the Real Madrid side though is a tricky task.
On the left, Cristiano Ronaldo can be quite certain of retaining his place, and Gareth Bale is similarly likely to be assured of his position on the right given that club president Florentino Perez splurged a world record fee to bring the Welshman to La Liga in the summer.
That leaves one space in the attacking three behind a centre forward, and given that both Ronaldo and Bale are incredibly quick, direct players who dribble at the opposition before shooting, some guile would be required for balance.
That is why Isco and Angel Di Maria are afforded playing time in this Real Madrid side, and it is more likely that the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu club will reinforce elsewhere in the team.
