Arsene Wenger calls for Arsenal miracle in Monaco
The Gunners will be in need of the support as they attempt to overturn a two goal deficit from the first leg. After losing 1-3 at the Emirates two weeks ago they need to score at least three times against the Ligue 1 side. Leonardo Jardim’s side have only conceded twice in the entire competition.
If the North London club were to fail it would leave only Manchester City in the competition from England, and they are also looking to orchestrate a comeback against Barcelona on Wednesday. The Citizens lost 1-2 to the Catalan club at the Etihad last time out. Everton could be the only English club in Europe by Thursday, when they play against Dynamo Kiev.
The Belgian is backing Arsene Wenger’s side despite his friend Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco playing for their French opponents.
The 24-year-old said: “I have a friend Ferreira-Carrasco over there [at Monaco] and I wish him the best. But for English football, I hope Arsenal go through.”
