Blues goalkeeper Pete Cech eyeing Nou Camp switch.
Peter Cech is considering his future at Chelsea after interest from Barcelona, according to the Daily Star.
The 31-year-old is reportedly wanted by Barca to replace Victor Valdes, who is set to leave the Nou Camp next summer after publicly refusing to sign a new deal.
The Star claims that Cech has held talks with Blues boss Jose Mourinho and is tempted to leave for a new challenge after nine years at Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho reportedly told the Czech Republic international that he is under huge pressure to bring through Chelsea’s next generation of stars, which include keeper-in-waiting Thibaut Courtois.
The 21-year-old is currently spending a third consecutive season on loan at Atletico Madrid and has attracted attention from across Europe with his displays.
Mourinho is aware that the Belgium international is unlikely to settle for a place on the bench when he returns to West London, which will leave Mourinho with a straight choice between Cech and Courtois.
Barca have enquired about the possibility of a swap deal in January involving Cech and Valdes but Mourinho has no international of losing his goalkeeper mid-campaign, while Cech is desperate to see out the season after being convinced to stay this summer by Mourinho’s return.
Barca are also interested in Liverpool’s on-loan stopper Pepe Reina, with some reports suggesting the Spainard has already signed a pre-contract with the Catalan giants.
