Blues set to make move for long time United target.
Chelsea are set to make a £26.8million raid on Fiorentina star Juan Cuadrado from under the noses of Manchester United, according to the Daily Star.
Blues boss Jose Mourinho is said to be a big fan of the Colombian international and has reportedly been keeping an eye on his form and development over the past 18 months.
Manchester United had been credited with a serious interest in his services, and boss Louis Van Gaal is said to have met with the player’s representatives after last summer’s World Cup.
The 28-year-old was a standout performer at in Brazil, where he starred alongside Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez.
However, Cuadrado declined to press ahead with the move to Old Trafford and instead penned a new five-year deal with the Serie A giants.
But part of the new deal saw a £26.8m buy-out clause installed in his deal, and now Jose Mourinho is believed to be keen to activate it to bring him to west London.
