The 50-year-old insists the squad will remain the same come February.
It was a fairly busy transfer window for Chelsea this summer with eight new players being brought in, but manager Jose Mourinho says the same won’t happen in January.
Despite being constantly linked with fresh talent, the Portuguese coach insists that there will be no new additions and that the 50-year-old is happy with the squad.
“I will be happy if in January nothing happens with us. I spoke with the final group and I told them that I wish that in January everybody is happy and nobody wants to leave,” Mourinho was quoted by Sky Sports.
“I am happy with everybody and I don’t want anyone to come in. That’s what I want for January and that would be the perfect situation for us.”
However, this is not to say that high profile names won’t be leaving Stamford Bridge, as both Juan Mata and David Luiz seem to be out-of-favour under the boss and have been linked with moves away.
Despite being arguably the Blues’ and even the Premier League’s best player in 2012/13, Mata is yet to play 90 minutes under Mourinho and does not seem to be a key part of the plans at the club.
Due to a high volume of attacking midfielders at the Bridge – which currently stands at six with the likes of Andre Schurrle, Oscar, Kevin De Bruyne, Eden Hazard and Willian – it is likely that the Spain international will continue to be shunned by the manager.
