Blues pounce after teenager rejects contract offer with French champions.
Chelsea have approached Paris Saint-Germain with a £7m offer for teenage midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to The Metro.
The 19-year-old, who has represented France at six different youth levels, has one year left to run on his current contract at Parc des Princes.
Chelsea are making their move after Rabiot turned down the offer of a new deal with PSG.
Rabiot, who celebrated his 19th birthday in April, featured in 25 Ligue 1 games last season, scoring two goals.
He also appeared in six Champions League matches.
Chelsea reportedly made an enquiry for Rabiot in January, before pulling out of a deal when the player got injured.
Rabiot is a big, strong ball-playing central midfielder who likes to dribble and has many similarities with Chelsea star Nemanja Matic.
He joined PSG in 2010, after brief spells at various clubs, including Manchester City.
