Former Chelsea star looks set to agree Juventus switch.
Legendary Chelsea striker Didier Drogba looks set to move to Juventus in January on loan.
The Cote D’Ivoire international enjoyed a wonderful career at Stamford Bridge, with his final touch for the West London club being the winning penalty to claim the UEFA Champions League final last season.
He was also voted Chelsea’s greatest ever player by the official team magazine, and what he achieved at Stamford Bridge will never be forgotten.
Upon leaving the Blues last summer, Drogba moved to Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua FC, where he met up with Nicolas Anelka, but with the season already over, the Ivorian is twiddling his thumbs.
Europe will still remember him as one of the most feared centre forwards in Europe though, and it is no surprise that Juventus are looking to bring him to Turin.
CNN’s Italian correspondent and Gazzetta dello Sport writer Tancredi Palmeri revealed the news:
Juventus have been a wonderful team to watch this season, but a focal point to their attack could be a huge help.
Although Mirko Vucinic, Fabio Quagliarella and Sebastian Giovinco are all fine players, the Serie A giants reportedly attempted to sign Arsenal’s Robin van Persie and Liverpool’s Luis Suarez in the summer.
Van Persie moved to Manchester United, Suarez signed a new deal at Anfield, and Juventus ended up with Nicklas Bendtner on loan.
Bianconeri manager Antonio Conte will hope his team can land Drogba as he could make a real difference to their defence of the Scudetto, and he would of course not be cup tied in the UEFA Champions League.
However, he is likely to take part in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
