Torres is to be sidelined for some time with a knee problem.
Despite beating Manchester United 3-1 in the Premier League, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho had some bad news after the game about Fernando Torres.
The Spaniard was absent from the match with the Red Devils – with Torres’ replacement Samuel Eto’o netting an impressive hat-trick – and Mourinho says the striker will be out for weeks with a knee ligament injury.

With Eto’o in such fine form the Portuguese coach may not be too fazed by Torres’ spell on the sidelines and it could also be a chance for Demba Ba to get some game time.
The Spain international has played 22 matches this term and scored eight goals, but is still seemingly struggling to shake off the £50m transfer fee of three years ago.
Since that expensive move from Liverpool the attacker has failed to find any consistent goal-scoring form and has a total of 42 strikes in 153 games.
Eto’o meanwhile now has 10 goals in 20 matches this campaign and looks to be finding the African’s feet in English football, while Ba has three strikes from the Senegal international’s 14 appearances.
