The striker has been involved in all action in both good and bad ways.
At half-time in the big Premier League clash between Chelsea and Manchester City, the hosts hold a 1-0 lead through a easy tap-in for Andre Schurrle.
However, the man that has been popping up all over the pitch in the first half is Fernando Torres, who earned a starting place under Jose Mourinho after netting twice against Schalke 04 in the Champions League mid-week.
It was a pass from Torres that allowed Schurrle to put the Blues ahead, but this came shortly after the Spaniard had blazed over from eight yards.
A ball from Ramires fell to the striker, who had no City players around the 29-year-old before a panicked shot cannoned off the attacker’s shin and went over Joe Hart’s bar.
Torres has received a mixed reception on Twitter as the Spain international looks to achieve the form that was once shown at Liverpool.
@GaryLineker Sometimes he’s like Ronaldo, sometimes he’s like Ronnie Rosenthal. #Torres

#Torres …The best and the worst in 45 mins. Misses, hits Bar, sets up Schurrle. Still, just 1 Premier league goal in 25 games. — Aminu Sani (@Al_ameen63) October 27, 2013
The only positive thing that can be said about #Torres is that he tries to get back to his #Liverpool level, but to his utter dismay he fails

You don’t accidentally set up a goal yourself and then hit the bar from an unbelievable angle, that’s pure skill and talent #torres
