Blues target wanted by Real this January.
Chelsea could face competition from Real Madrid for the signing of Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin, according to talkSPORT.
The Colombian international has been one of Serie A’s top midfield players in recent times, and also attracted interest from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur during the summer.
Seemingly available for just £12m, Guarin looks likely to have a number of suitors again this January as Inter appear to hold out little hope of keeping him at the San Siro.
Real are in the market for a replacement for Xabi Alonso, while another Chelsea target, Sami Khedira, could also be set for a move next summer and leave them short of options in the middle of the pitch.
Chelsea’s interest in Guarin may have cooled with the signing of Cesc Fabregas this summer.
