Schalke’s interest in De Bruyne could prompt Draxler Chelsea talks.
Schalke are interested in wantaway Chelsea midfielder Kevin de Bruyne, which could provide the Blues with an opportunity to try to use the Belgian as bait to sign Arsenal target Julian Draxler.
De Bruyne looks set to be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge in January after starting just two Premier League matches all season.
The 22-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Werder Bremen, favours a move to the Bundesliga and is not interested in Aston Villa, who have enquired about a loan switch.
Schalke, who have qualified for the knock-outs of the Champions League, are among the favourites to sign De Bruyne but their pursuit may see Chelsea take an interest in winger Draxler, according to The Daily Telegraph.
Draxler, 19, is one of the most highly-rated playmakers in Europe and the young German international has been linked with a move to Arsenal, after admitting an admiration for the Gunners.
Wolfsburg, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with former Genk star De Bruyne.
