Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has claimed that young Belgian winger Eden Hazard has transformed himself from the worst trainer at the club, into a model professional, reveals the Telegraph.
Despite Chelsea’s wealth of attacking midfield talent, Hazard is undeniably one of the first names on Mourinho’s team sheet, and he’s scored eight and assisted five in the Premier League alone.
Mourinho though reckons that Hazard’s current form is down to a change of attitude on the training ground.
“He was not voted the worst, but was known as one of the worst trainers,” said the Portuguese.
“Now he is a good professional in training. He has improved in every aspect. He works very hard for the team, shows initiative, doesn’t disappear and wants to be influential all game. He’s the kind of player we want.”
As result, the Blues boss now thinks Hazard’s transfer value would be astronomical.
“If his value was around £40 million when Chelsea bought him, and he’s two or three times better now, his value in the market is a crazy value,” he said.
The news comes as Chelsea prepare to ship Kevin De Bruyne out to Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga, and Mourinho reckons a deal is close.
“I believe there’s a feeling we will reach an agreement. I can’t confirm it but the interest is big from the club and even bigger from the player,” Mourinho added.
