Do these quotes mean striker signing is a done deal?
Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure may have confirmed the imminent arrival of Wilfried Bony at the club, according to the Sun.
The Ivory Coast international has appeared to welcome his fellow countryman to the Etihad Stadium, despite the £30m signing of the Swansea City man yet to be officially confirmed.
Bony has also been linked with Chelsea, but it now seems increasingly likely that he will be announced as a City player before long, based on Toure’s latest quotes.
“If you want to be at the top of the Premier League you need to sign the top players and Bony is one of them at the moment,” Toure said.
“We have fantastic strikers in the Premier League. But we have been struggling with our strikers not being fit.
“(Sergio) Aguero is a prolific one for us but now, in a few days, we think Wilfried is going to sign for us and it’s going to be a big boost.
“We have heard that things are going well and that maybe in a couple of days the deal will be done. And I hope so.”
