Star duo set to go head-to-head on Saturday in Confederations Cup.
Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has suggested that Neymar and Mario Balotelli would make the “perfect partnership”.
The two stars will face each other on Saturday, as the Selecao take on Italy in a battle to finish top of Group A in the Confederations Cup.
Both countries have already qualified, but despite the Azzurri expected to make several changes following their struggles with fitness and dealing with the conditions, both Balotelli and Neymar are expected to feature.
Scolari also has his issues with the squad, with Paulinho and David Luiz set to miss out, while there are several players also struggling with tiredness.
However, Neymar recently secured a move to Barcelona and has stated on numerous occasions that he would like to get to know Balotelli and become good friends with him.
Even though Scolari will be tasked with finding a way of silencing the Milan star, he admits that he would love to see the 22-year-old play alongside Brazil’s biggest star someday.
“Balotelli is very strong and I’d love to train him. He is an extrovert. Our defenders know his qualities already. He reminds me of Serginho from the 1982 World Cup squad and would make a perfect partnership with Neymar,” he told the media as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italian striker has become a popular figure in Brazil after two impressive performances for his country thus far, with the home crowds cheering his every touch. He even ventured out in Bahia on Friday, with the locals crowding around him and wanted photos and autographs.
