Tangerines give permission to talk to Scot.
Blackpool have been given permission to speak to Dundee boss Peter Houston about the vacant managerial position at Bloomfield Road, Sky Sports news understands.
The Tangerines lost their second manager of the season when Michael Appleton was named as Blackburn Rovers boss last week. Appleton spent just 66 days in charge of Blackpool after arriving from Portsmouth, following Ian Holloway’s departure to Crystal Palace.
Houston has been in charge of United since 2009 and led the club to a surprise Scottish Cup in in 2010.
The 54-year-old has previously been caretaker boss of Hearts on two ocassions but has never worked in English football.
He will leave Dundee United sitting eighth in the SPL.
