The former Barcelona boss is set to take over from Jupp Heynckes at the end of the season and will be given a transfer kitty of £240 million to turn the German giants into a team capable of winning the Champions League.
And Guardiola has apparently identified the Uruguayan striker to lead his attacking line.
It is rumoured that a bid in the region of £40 million would persuade Liverpool to release the player. Although the striker has a good relationship with the Anfield faithful, he has come under a barrage of criticism from opposition fans and pundits and is reportedly considering his future in the Premier League.
That may well provoke a mixed reaction from Liverpool fans who have loved watching Suarez’s mazy dribbles and exceptional goals, but know their team are in dire need of rebuilding. The £70 million could provide the funds needed to bring some new blood to the club.
Should Liverpool decide to hold on to the Uruguayan, it is suggested Bayern will turn instead to Colombian sensation Radamel Falcao.
