AC Milan were hoping to bring Balotelli to the club he has supported since he was a boy. With the Italian international having found himself increasingly marginalised at the club this season, it is thought both player and club were ready for an amicable parting of ways.
But the move has been put into jeopardy after it emerged that AC Milan are still some distance away from matching Man City’s £31 million valuation.
Not only do they want to pay a figure closer to the region of £23.5 million, they also are demanding the amount be paid is six separate instalments.
The player’s agent, Mino Raiola is quoted as saying ‘They have never asked for money because they haven’t put the player up for sale. There are no negotiations going on for Balotelli, not with any side. City don’t want to sell or loan Mario, there is zero per cent chance of a move. But who knows what will happen before January 31.’
