Bale has been highly criticised during his stay at Real Madrid and it now seems he is heading for the exit door, with John Richardson telling MUFCTV that a deal to bring the Welsh international back to the Premier League was almost done.
“I think it’s almost a done deal to be honest,” Richardson is quoted as saying by Metro.
“I know somebody very close to Gareth Bale and the public are not hearing the real thing.
“He’s very unhappy there and he’s unhappy with his treatment.”
The 25-year-old was wasteful in front of goal during Real Madrid’s second-leg semi-final clash against Juventus on Wednesday and the notoriously demanding fans of the Los Merengues were audibly unhappy with Bale’s performance.
Despite the amount of criticism he has faced, Bale has hit the back of the net 17 times and made 10 assists in all competitions this season.
Real Madrid look destined for a trophyless season after being knocked out of the Champions League and are currently four points behind leaders Barcelona in La Liga with two games to play.
