Jagielka will not be available for Hodgson during the international break.
Everton defender Phil Jagielka has been ruled out of England’s friendly international against Denmark at Wembley next week with a hamstring injury.
“Phil has felt his hamstring over the last couple of days and will be missing at the weekend and for England,” Everton manager Roberto Martinez said.
“I don’t think it will be a long-term injury, but Phil will be missing for a couple of weeks.”
England manager Roy Hodgson will now have to rethink who will be named in his squad for Wednesday’s match.
The first match Jagielka will miss is Everton’s home Premier League fixture against West Ham United at Goodison Park on Saturday.
