Mourinho heaps praise on Oscar following victory over Crystal Palace.
Chelsea playmaker Oscar’s stunning first half free-kick to give Chelsea the lead at Crystal Palace this weekend was possibly the Premier League strike of the week – and the player’s manager, Jose Mourinho, has heaped praise on the Brazilian following the game, albeit in his own enigmatic style.

Mourinho, who has previously criticised Oscar and questioned the amount of football that he has been forced to play, believes that the Brazilian has undergone a genuine change since he arrived at Stamford Bridge:
“He had an evolution, a mental, tactical evolution that allows him to be a fantastic player.”
“Can he physically improve? Of course. People forget that he is still so young.”
Despite questioning him in the past, however, Mourinho’s real show of faith in Oscar in the number ten position came when he decided to sell Juan Mata, a big rival for the position, to Manchester United in January.
