Lambert set to compete to bring player to Villa Park.
Aston Villa are ready to join the race for the signature of Swansea forward Danny Graham according to talkSPORT.
The player has been linked to a number of clubs in recent weeks, including Norwich City, Reading and Sunderland, after having fallen out of favour at the Liberty Stadium.
Swans manager Michael Laudrup has typically preferred his side to line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation this season, leaving no space for Graham with the in-form Michu occupying the lone striker position.
The former Watford striker was a key part of the Swansea side managed by current Liverpool boss, Brendan Rodgers, but has become increasingly frustrated with his lack of first team opportunities this season.
The player showed he is able to hit the back of the net after scoring 12 goals in the league last season.
Villa are desperate for more firepower up front having entered the New Year as the league’s lowest scorers, managing just 17 goals from 21 matches.
6 of those goals have come from Belgian international Christian Benteke, and with Darren Bent seemingly destined for an exit from the club, the Villains are keen to bring someone in to lighten the burden on the young forward.
Graham has enjoyed a better spell recently, netting 3 goals in as many games and it is rumoured a fee of at least £8 million would be required to persuade the Welsh club to part ways with their striker.
