The Gunners will not be signing Pato or Morata in January…
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has denied claims that his club on the verge of signing either Corinthian’s Alex Pato or Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata.
The Gunners had been linked with both forwards, after it was reported that Wenger had earmarked another striker as a priority in the January transfer window.

When asked about Morata, the young Spanish prodigy, Wenger dismissed claims that Arsenal are interested in taking him on loan.
“There is no truth in that. That is all I can say. I have not been in touch with them,” the veteran Frenchman explained.
Yesterday reports from Brazil emerged that Corinthians had rejected an £8m bid from the London side for former starlet Pato, but Wenger similarly rejected the claims.
“No. There is no interest,” he added.
With Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott not fully fit, and both being mainly used in wide positions, Wenger has only the hapless Nicklas Bendtner as backup for Olivier Giroud. While Giroud has been excellent this term, an injury to him could curtail the Gunners’ title ambitions.
For this reason, it seems probable the Wenger will target at least one forward in January, especially if they continue in their current vein of form and a league title still looks a realistic target.
