Gunners boss pleased with recent transfer business at Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has praised the contributions of Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud this season.
Check out the latest Brighton vs Arsenal odds now! Why not have a flutter on Lukas Podolski to score the first goal at 5/1!
The pair moved to Emirates Stadium last summer, and took some time to settle – Giroud coming under particular public pressure – but have each come to the fore in recent weeks.
In the Gunners’ last match against West Ham United, Lukas Podolski scored once, and supplied his team-mates with three assists – all from his position on the left flank.
Like Theo Walcott, Podolski has been quite vocal in stating publicly that his preferred position is in the centre, but it’s difficult to argue that cause when he produces such impressive statistics from the wing.
Arsene Wenger certainly believes the Germany international’s best position is on the left.
“You can have many theories, but it’s still better to have a left footer on the left side to get good crosses in,” said Wenger to Arsenal Player.
“If somebody has an accurate cross, it is Podolski.
“He has a fantastic left foot – you saw that on his goal. The quality of his crosses is absolutely immaculate and when you play in the middle, you want people who can cross like him.”
Wenger also took time to hail the improvements made by French striker Olivier Giroud.
“I’m convinced that he will become stronger and stronger. People feel that as well. He’s accepted because he’s a fighter as well.
“He has charisma, a good mentality and links well with other people. He’s adjusting well technically to the difficulty and the movement of the Premier League.
“You feel that there’s more to come from him. The fact that he scores goals will help to get that out of him.”
