The Gunners will have to pay mega-money for Swansea’s Spanish sensation…
Arsenal have been quoted a whopping £25m for Swansea’s Spanish striker Michu, as they look for alternatives to Gonzalo Higuain and Luis Suarez, reports the Daily Mirror.
The Emirates club missed on Higuain, with the Argentine forward joining Napoli, and Premier League rivals Liverpool remain adamant that Suarez will not be leaving the club.
As the end of the transfer window draws close, the Gunners could turn to Swansea’s Spanish forward Michu, who bagged an impressive 19 league goals in his debut year in England.
The London club have been quoted an astronomical £25m for his services however, which they are unlikely to want to pay for a backup option. The 27-year-old striker had a fantastic first season in England, but has not consistently proved over his career that he is worth that enormous fee.
The striker would slot in to the Gunners side either as a centre-forward or playing a more withdrawn no.10 role. Arsenal lost their opening game of the Premier League season at home to Aston Villa, with fans continually chanting at the club to make some much needed new signings. So far this summer, Arsenal have only brought in Yaya Sanogo on a free transfer, and with less than two weeks left of the transfer window, supporters are becoming increasingly nervous that new recruits won’t arrive.
