Troyes youngster has been on Wenger’s radar for some time and Frenchman could move now Gibbs is facing spell on sidelines.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger could enter the transfer market for a left-back after Kieran Gibbs was ruled out for three weeks with a thigh injury.
QPR vs Arsenal tickets are now available for the London derby at Loftus Road on 4 May!
Gibbs limped out of Arsenal’s entertaining 2-2 draw with Liverpool on Wednesday and will now miss Premier League games with Stoke and Sunderland, and possibly the Champions League first-leg with Bayern Munich.
“Of course it’s a blow for us,” said Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
“He is important for us going forward and the game we want to play.”
The Frenchman replaced Gibbs with Brazilian Andre Santos but privately Wenger feels the former Fenerbahce man is not good enough for a spot in his first-team.
The Arsenal boss is a long-term admirer of Troyes youngster Fabrice N’Sakala and could make an eleventh hour bid for the 21-year-old full-back before Thursday’s 11pm transfer deadline.
N’Sakala has started 15 games this season for the Ligue 1 strugglers and is a France under-21 international.
Wenger has been keeping tabs on the youngster for some time and could test Troyes resolve for a bid, particularly if he feels Gibbs’ injury may prove worse than first feared.
Gibbs’ blow is the latest in a serious of injuries sustained by the England international, 23, and Wenger is privately concerned that the player may not be robust enough for a career in the Premier League, which may provide further cause to bring in N’Sakala.
