The Gunners look to have beaten PSG to the chase.
Transfer deadline day is going into a spin as Arsenal are said to have completed the deal to bring Real Madrid’s Mesut Ozil to north London ahead of Paris Saint-Germain, according to the Mirror.

It did seem that the French champions were going to trump the Gunners for the Germany international after outbidding the Premier League outfit.

Yet Ozil is keen to make the switch to England and with Manchester United out of the running, Arsene Wenger has a relatively clear pathway to tie up the deal.
The German wants to leave Madrid due to the arrival of Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur in a world record transfer.
The Welshman’s signing, along with fellow new face Isco from Malaga, means that Ozil’s chances of first team football at the Santiago Bernabeu are getting slimmer and slimmer.
Therefore if seems Spurs have in fact done their fierce local rivals a favour by selling Bale to Los Blancos, as it has freed up the likes of the 24-year-old and possibly Angel Di Maria to leave.

Ozil would represent the marquee signing that fans at the Emirates Stadium have been craving for so long and would bring genuine world-class talent to the club.
