The Gunners are lining up a loan move for Morata.
As Arsenal continue their long-term chase for attacking support it seems that Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata could be arriving in January on-loan, according to the Daily Mail.
The Gunners have been tracking the 21-year-old for some time and manager Arsene Wenger wants the Spaniard on a six month temporary basis in the New Year.
Morata has found opportunities at Madrid fairly sporadic this season under new head coach Carlo Ancelotti and would welcome a chance to impress elsewhere.
The Spain under-21 international has started just one game for Los Blancos this term and in 12 appearances in all competitions has two goals.
The forward came to the attention of many interested sides last summer when four strikes from the youngster helped guide the Spanish side to the under-21 European Championship trophy in Israel.
Morata was named top-scorer at the tournament and the attacker is predicted to have a very bright future in the game.
Wenger meanwhile still faces the worrying prospect of what the team does if there is an injury to Olivier Giroud.
This is because the only alternatives to the Frenchman are out-of-form Nicklas Bendtner and Yaya Sanogo – with Lukas Podolski also able to operate more centrally.
This lack of options has been where many have pinpointed that the north London club will fall down in their bid to lift the Premier League title.
