Top-flight rivals will go head to head to land Uruguay international.
Manchester City coach Angelo Gregucci has admitted that the Premier League champions are interested in bringing Napoli’s highly-rated front man Edinson Cavani to the Ethiad stadium next season, says ESPN.
fanatix tickets – Manchester City vs Chelsea tickets are on sale from £48 for the match on February 24th at the Etihad Stadium.
However, the Italian has also suggested that City will need to beat off competition from a whole host of other top European clubs who are also keen on signing the in-demand forward, with top-flight rivals Arsenal reportedly believed to be interested in the player.
It is understod that the Uruguay international has a buy-out clause of £55 million written into his contract, a fee that City would be able to match, unlike the North London club.
“City will definitely have competition for Cavani, who is dominating the Italian league with his goals and sacrifices for the team and whose contract has a £55 million buy-out clause,” Gregucci said.
“Edinson is scoring a huge number of goals this season, and it will be difficult for City to take him.
“The 10 biggest clubs in Europe all have Cavani in their sights.”
