Luis Suarez will consider submitting transfer request over his Liverpool future…
Arsenal target Luis Suarez will consider legal action if Liverpool refuse to sell him, reports BBC Sport.
Luis Suarez is considering submitting a formal transfer request should the Reds fail to accept a bid for him. The Uruguayan 26-year-old was outstanding for the Reds last season, and wants to move to play Champion League football this term.
If Liverpool continue to reject Arsenal’s advances, the striker will submit a formal transfer request, such is his desperation to leave the club.
This is despite Brendan Rodgers telling the media that Suarez is happy at the club.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted that he wants to sign the striker, who scored 23 league goals last year.
“We want to sign Suarez if it is feasible in an amicable way,” said the Frenchman
“We will respect what Liverpool want to do. I don’t want to speak about Suarez, because that is between Liverpool and Arsenal.
“I am a great believer you have to keep as much confidentiality as possible, which is quite difficult in the modern world.”
It is hugely unlikely that Liverpool will sell their star striker to a league rival when he has three years on his contract. Arsenal however, have already bid £40m for the controversial forward and could be willing to reach the £55m valuation Brendan Rodgers has put on the player.
Arsenal have been chasing a forward all summer, and missed out on Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli last week. The capture of Suarez would more than double their transfer record, set last summer when Santi Cazorla joined from Villareal last summer for £16m.
