Arsenal likely to be without two key Emirates Stadium stars for UEFA Champions League matches.
Arsenal will have to play their forthcoming UEFA Champions League matches against Bayern Munich without their two first choice players for the left back position.
fanatix tickets – Barclays Premier League tickets are still available for this weekend’s games.
West Brom vs Spurs tickets are on sale from £15 for this Sunday’s match at the Hawthorns.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that Kieran Gibbs’ injury is worse than initially suspected, and now the likely layoff time is double what was originally diagnosed.
“Gibbs is out [for the weekend],” said Wenger.
“It will be longer than three weeks.
“We plan he’ll be out for four to six weeks. It’s a grade two thigh strain and could be a bit longer than expected at the start.”
Arsenal of course play Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League in February 19th and March 13th, meaning Gibbs has a chance of recovering for the second leg, but fans of the north London outfit will be incredibly nervous at the prospect of playing Andre Santos against the likes of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.
New signing Nacho Monreal is of course ineligible thanks to his contributions for Malaga CF in this season’s competition, and Thomas Vermaelen or even Bacary Sagna could be deployed at left back, with Carl Jenkinson playing on the right if so.
