Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is desperate to sign Demba Ba in January!
Arsenal will step up the chase for Chelsea forward Demba Ba when the transfer window reopens in January, reports the Daily Star.
The Senegalese international will likely set the Gunners back £15m, although it is unclear whether Jose Mourinho will be prepared to sell him to a Premier League rival, despite his lack of game time at Stamford Bridge.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger feels he needs to bring in backup for current first-choice striker Olivier Giroud. Despite the Frenchman’s impressive start to the season, with Lukas Podolski out injured, Arsenal have only the much maligned Nicklas Bendtner in reserve. An injury to Giroud could well derail their season unless the forward areas are strengthened immediately.
Ba, 28, has not got much of a look in at Chelsea this year behind Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto’o. The Blues also have young Beligian hitman Romelu Lukaku to return at the end of the season from his loan spell at Everton, and it seems that Ba will permanently be a bench option if he stays at the Blues.
Ba has not scored in the Premier League yet this season, and has been only been given two starts so far.
