Arteta believes the rest of the league will have taken notice of their statement of intent.
It was another good week for Arsenal in the Premier League as the leaders triumphed 0-3 over Cardiff City and vice-captain Mikel Arteta says it shows their title credentials.
“Every away game in the Premier League is very tough,” the Spaniard told the club’s website.
“Considering they beat Man City here and they drew against Man United, just shows you what a tough place this is.
“For us it’s a big statement to come here and get the points, to score three goals away from home is very important. ”
It was the first time Aaron Ramsey had returned to the Welsh club since a brief loan spell with them in 2011, after joining the Gunners from the Blue Birds in 2008.
The 22-year-old has shown impeccable form this term and continued in the same vein in this tie by scoring a brace either side of a rare Mathieu Flamini strike.
As Arteta pointed out, triumphing over Cardiff in this way was no mean feat considering the team had previously taken a point from their home game with United and also beaten City in their second match of the season.
The 31-year-old has been a consistent presence for the north London team again this campaign, making 14 appearances in all competitions and adjusting well to a new role as a defensive midfielder.
