It was not a good day for the Gunners.
Following a superb run of late Arsenal lost some momentum on Sunday when they lost to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
It was only the second time this season that the Gunners had tasted defeat in the league and it saw United close the gap on the north London side to five points.
Several of the team’s in-form players were poor in the game – most notably Santi Cazorla, Olivier Giroud and Mesut Ozil – and the side never looked strong in attack.
However, Jack Wilshere – who started the game on the bench but looked in good touch after being brought on – has praised the travelling fans for their support.
Thanks to all the Gooners that travelled to Manchester yesterday your continued support is amazing! #Afc #GoonerPower

The away supporters did make the headlines after abusing former star Robin Van Persie, before the Dutchman had the last laugh when the striker scored the only goal of the game.
Wilshere meanwhile has been in good form this term, with an ankle injury keeping the midfielder out of action for a few games.
Other than that the 21-year-old has looked good and has played 16 matches in all competitions, netting two goals and providing one assist.
The experience and talent that the midfield ace has makes it easy to forget just how young Wilshere is and along with other starlets such as Kieran Gibbs, Aaron Ramsey and Wolciech Szczesny, is the basis for a promising future at the Emirates Stadium.
