Arsenal are set to reward French striker Olivier Giroud with a new, improved four year contract at the Emirates, that will keep him with the Gunners until 2018, reports French publication L’Equipe.
The 27-year-old was contracted with Arsenal until 2016, but after scoring more than 20 goals in all competitions last term, Arsene Wenger wants to extend Giroud’s deal.
Giroud has received criticism from the Gunners’ faithful in the past, having failed to score many goals against better sides.
His manager though clearly rates him very highly, and we can expect Giroud to lead the Arsenal line at the start of the 2014/15 season.
