Diaby says making steps on road to recovery.
Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby says he hopes to start running again in a few weeks as he continues rehabilitation from his latest injury setback.
The Frenchman suffered knee ligament damage is March and is expected to be out of action until Christmas.
Diaby has been a regular on the treatment table since joining the Gunners from Auxerre in 2006 and, after a strong start to this season, the Les Blues international managed just 12 appearances in all competitions.
The 27-year-old is currently working his way back to full fitness and says he hopes to start running again in the next few weeks.
“I have come off the crutches. Now I have to start walking again,” Diaby is quotes as saying by Sky Sports.
“I will start running again in a few weeks.
“I want to take my time with everything to ensure that it all goes smoothly.”
In the absence of his compatriot, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger used both Mikel Arteta and Aaron Ramsey as auxiliary holding midfielders last season and the Gunners are expected to dip into the transfer market to sign a new enforcer this summer.
