Wilshere has been in good form lately and is one of few Arsenal players who can hold his head high after their dismal recent run of form – but his injury problems were again highlighted after he limped off during the midweek defeat to Manchester United, ruling him out of this week’s crucial Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund.
With other inconsistent players such as winger Theo Walcott also looking likely to be rewarded with bumper new deals, are the Gunners being too hasty at handing out new contracts to plays who perhaps haven’t earned them yet?
