Gunners thought to be club keen on Standard Liege’s Batshuayi.
An unnamed English club, believed to be Arsenal, are set to sign Standard Liege striker Michy Batshuayi and loan him to Anderlecht, reports Belgium newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws.
The club will pay £6.5m for the powerful youngster in January before loaning him to Standard’s rivals, who have a talented young squad and are responsible for producing top talent like Vincent Kompany and Romelu Lukaku.
Twenty-year-old Batshuayi is top scorer of the Belgian Juliper League after scoring 15 times in all competitions for Standard this season.
The £5m-rated star has admitted he is likely to leave the club ‘next year’ and has described the Gunners as one of the clubs of his ‘dreams’, alongside Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.
And Arsene Wenger is interested in the powerful forward, as he searches for an affordable back-up striker as cover for Olivier Giroud.
But there are also reports that Swansea, who reportedly bid £2.5m for Batshuayi in the summer, could also be the interested party.
