After a tremendous career as a player with the Gunners, the Irishman held his job at the academy for an incredible 25 years, helping through the likes of Kieran Gibbs and Jack Wilshere in recent years.
Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis paid tribute to Brady, saying “Liam has a deep understanding of what it takes to discover and develop a talented youngster into someone who can perform at the highest level.
“He has made a massive contribution to Arsenal Football Club.
“It will be difficult to find a worthy successor but we will be looking for someone who can build on what Liam and his team have created.”
It is currently unknown who Arsenal plan to replace Brady with, but many other Gunners legends are making their first forays into coaching.
Patrick Vieira is unlikely to be available due to his commitments to Manchester City, but Dennis Bergkamp has done well with Ajax’s youth, and Thierry Henry could be interested if he could be tempted from New York Red Bulls.
A report on the club website indicates that Arsenal are exploring other roles to offer Liam Brady.
