The 22-year-old has been in highly impressive form this season and last, attracting interest from a number of top clubs, also including Manchester City.
Valued at around £17m, the French international could be a useful signing for Arsene Wenger’s side, competing with Kieran Gibbs for a place and allowing Nacho Monreal to play at centre-back more often.
Arsenal are also chasing Ligue 1 stars such as Yohan Cabaye, Nabil Fekir and Kurzawa’s Monaco team-mate Joao Moutinho this January.
