The Gunners are on the lookout for improvements in midfield as the likes of Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere spend more time on the treatment table than doing anything meaningful on the pitch, and Arsene Wenger has identified Cabaye as the ideal candidate to come in.
The French international playmaker has not reached top form since moving to the Parc des Princes last January, struggling for playing time in PSG’s star-studded squad and now possibly heading for the exit door at the end of this season.
Arsenal would be willing to offer Cabaye a place back in the Premier League, with the 29-year-old shining as one of England’s top midfielders in his first spell here at St James’ Park.
