The New Zealand international has been a top performer in the Premier League in recent times, and is thought to be keen on a move to a bigger club as he stalls on signing a new contract at Upton Park.
West Ham have made a fine start to the season this year, but the 26-year-old’s departure would no doubt be a major blow as the club concede they may have to sell him this winter.
Arsenal and United are on alert for the want-away centre-back, with both clubs in need of strengthening in that position after unconvincing starts to the season.
