It means youngster Carl Jenkinson will get a rare chance against the Tigers, having started seven matches in all competitions so far this season.
The Yorkshire club will be on a high after beating fellow high-flyers Liverpool in a convincing 3-1 win at the KW Stadium on Sunday.
However, the Gunners also look strong and remain top of the table after victory over Cardiff City at the weekend, a match where former Blue Birds midfielder Aaron Ramsey netted twice.
The Welshman has been in superb form and that takes the 22-year-old’s goal tally for the season to 13.
The return of Podolski will come as music to Wenger’s ears as the German has played just four matches this term.
The 28-year-old scored twice against Fulham on the second day of the league campaign and will also ease some of the attacking pressure being piled on Olivier Giroud.
Podolski will not be fit for the Hull match though and is also likely to be absent from the game with Everton at the weekend.
