Real Madrid will demand at least £25m if Arsenal want to sign young Spanish forward Alvaro Morata when the transfer window opens at the end of the season, reports the Metro.
The 21-year-old has struggled to get much of a look in with the Spanish giants, with the potent attacking trio of Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale nailing down the starting spots.
Morata is incredibly talented, and is strong both aerially and with the ball at his feet. This term though, he’s only been given one start in La Liga, but has managed to notch three goals from the bench.
For the Spanish Under-21 side, he’s scored 13 goals in just 12 starts, underlying his outstanding ability.
The Gunners currently have Olivier Giroud up top, but with Nicklas Bendtner leaving when his contract expires at the end of the season, and Yaya Sanogo having failed to score a goal all season – Arsene Wenger knows he needs to strengthen.
Whether they’ll be prepared to pay such a large fee for a player with little first-team experience is another matter, however.
