Arsenal eye major incomings at Emirates Stadium in coming week.
Arsenal have not given up hope of recruiting two players late in the January transfer window to give them a major boost in the remaining months of the season.

According to the Daily Mirror, the two in question are Barcelona forward David Villa and West Ham United Mohamed Diame.
Both would be intriguing signings – particularly as Arsene Wenger has practically issued denials of interest in either at various points.
On Diame: “We cannot come out with the names we are on,” said Wenger.
“We have not approached West Ham on that.”
On Villa: “We have been linked with David Villa, like Chelsea, but there’s nothing concrete there. We are not on the case.”
The denials each sound pretty unequivocal, but Arsene Wenger has always been reluctant to reveal his hand until something is confirmed, and has not always been completely forthright with the press.
Having sent his most trusted scouts on regular missions to check out Crystal Palace youngster Wilfried Zaha, with Eagles boss Ian Holloway confirming phone calls to discuss the player, Wenger then made a rather amusingly audacious claim.
“We were never in for Zaha,” said Wenger – just days after briefing the press a completely different story.
“We are looking at him, but at the moment we have not made any bid for him,” Wenger revealed five days previously.
“I don’t know if Manchester United is as well in for him.
“I like him as a player.”
It goes to show that whatever Wenger says should be taken with a pinch of salt up until the January transfer window deadline passes – and perhaps David Villa and Mohamed Diame are still on the way.
