Youngster’s tweet suggest that Man United, rather than Arsenal, are in pole position for his signature.
Manchester United appear clear favourites to sign Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha after the youngster tweeted: “Looks like I’m on my way to the top of the Premier League”.
United, Arsenal and Tottenham have all been linked with a move for the £20m rated youngster, who made his England debut against Italy in November.
It was understood that Zaha, 20, preferred to remain in London and wants Champions League football – making Arsenal clear favourites – but his tweet suggests a move to the Red Devils, who are ten points clear at the top of the Premier League, is imminent.
The forward later wrote on the social website: “I don’t know remember tweeting no such thing so I don’t know where the tweet came from #confused.”
It is believed that United are ready to loan Zaha back to the Eagles for the remainder of the season – a move that could aid the Selhurst Park club’s push for promotion.
Arsenal, meanwhile, would prefer Zaha to join up with the first team squad immediately, particularly with Theo Walcott spending an increasingly amount of time up-front rather than on the wing.
